The teenage striker says the plan was always to get out on loan this season, with there no point in him hanging around at Ewood Park just to kick his heels in the reserves.

Asked how the move to Accrington came about, he added: "I got my injury and then I played in a behind closed doors game against Stanley. I did well against them and the gaffer said he wanted to take me. I didn't think twice about it once that opportunity came. It was the first one and it was the one that I took."

Even David Beckham took in a stint at Preston North End before breaking into the big time at Manchester United.

for a play off spot.

He said: "I was coming back in for pre season and it was in my head that it was my last season at Blackburn. For me, any opportunity I had to get a new contract or something in the summer, I was going to take it. When the opportunity to come here came up, I saw it as a good opportunity to get myself a new contract and I took it straight away."

UnbeatenEvans said: "We are doing well at the moment. We are in the top half of the table and hopefully we can push for the play offs. We got beat by Burton, but before that we were on a 10 match unbeaten run. Hopefully we can look to put that right and carry on pushing Saucony Jazz Original Womens

He said: "It's not been easy, but it's not been hard. It's different, that's the right word. You have to adapt to the pace of the game and what it means on a Saturday, playing for three points. The pressure to win is a lot more and you want to do well for the fans as well."

It remains to be seen whether Micah Evans falls into that particular category, with the 18 year old having only just made the step up into the senior ranks.

The sole purpose of loans is to allow the player in question to head out and get games, providing them with an opportunity to prove a point either to their parent club or prospective employers.

Evans said: "It's a comfort. You know you can just enjoy what you are doing and focus on your game. You haven't got to worry about anything else other than playing football."

Top flight bosses have an abundance of riches at their disposal more players than they know what to do with while those further down the food chain are working with their hands tied and are only too happy to bolster their ranks with a youngster who could turn out to be a world beater.

So fierce is the competition at the very top of the game, and so reluctant are managers to put faith in untested stars of tomorrow, that they are forced to take one step sideways before breaking into full stride.

Stanley have been suitably impressed by Evans and have extended his loan agreement until the end of the season with that deal benefiting all concerned.

They may be out of favour, returning from injury or just starting out in the game whatever the situation, short term deals are intended to provide a platform on which to perform and catch the eye.

Established international stars such as Ashley Cole, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Glen Johnson were all sent out on loan by their respective employers before being charged with the responsibility of gracing the first team on a regular basis.

Evans has caught the eye during his time with Stanley, completing the transition from youth team hopeful to reliable senior star with consummate ease.

It could be argued that Evans has benefited from not being part of the Blackburn set up this season, given their troubles, but he does not see things like that.

He said: "I would like to get something at Blackburn but we will have to see how it goes. They are the club that I'm with now and I would like to stay. If I Saucony Collab can do well here, something might materialise."

All of those connected with the Accrington cause have few concerns at the moment, with the club having moved to within two points of the play off places after recently embarking on a run that brought seven wins in nine outings.

Retaining the services of highly rated and vastly experienced manager John Coleman will be key to Accrington's cause, with reports suggesting that League One outfit Rochdale have expressed an interest in his services.

Asked for his take on the season so far, he said: "It was a difficult start for me, getting injured in my first game, but when the opportunity came up to come Saucony Blue Apple

It is also about supply and demand.

The main focus for Evans at the moment may be promotion out of League Two, but he admits that he is planning for a long term future at Ewood Park.

"That's definitely the target. There is not a lot in it, there is not a lot of difference in it. A few more wins and who knows where we might be."

Evans said: "John Coleman is a great manager. I hope he stays, but if he goes we just have to get on with the job and believe we can do it. The target will still be the same. Whether he goes or not we would love him to stay because he's a great manager we still have to get on with the job in hand."

Asked if promotion had always been in Stanley's thoughts this season, he added: "Not really. They didn't say it to me initially. But we have done well and we are now in a position to go for it. Everyone is pulling in the right direction and the ambition is there. We just have to keep going."

This is a tried and tested formula for success, with Premier League bosses aware that the promise shown by their academy graduates can be moulded and fine tuned by time spent experiencing the cut and thrust of the Football League.
